A State of Persecution

A STATE OF PERSECUTION GUEST POST No-one likes to think that they live in a totalitarian state where small groups of people who hate any hint of religion, or truly religious Jews, can pursue their demented vendettas via the police and the courts. And yet, sadly, that is what is going on with Rav Berland, and with Shuvu Banim. It all started a few weeks ago, when that infamously biased, deceitful story aired on Channel 13, as covered HERE. [https://ravberland.com/why-channel-13-is-a-danger-to-israels-democracy/] People close to Rav Berland knew that even before her daughter passed away, the ‘grieving mother’ was in cahoots with the anti-religious media, and the anti-Rav psychos in the Breslov community who have been behind his ongoing persecution for years, already, in an attempt to get her daughter back to the 'good old' non-religious lifestyle she was used to before becoming part of the 'fanatic' religious community of Shuvu Banim. After their attempt to get the Rav excommunicated by the Beit Din [https://ravberland.com/new-bet-din-of-the-badatz-against-the-persecution-and-slander-of-rabbi-berland/] back in June boomeranged on them, with the Beit Din putting out a psak that is was forbidden for anyone to spread – or publish – any more negative information about the Rav and his community, the Breslov psychos have been working overtime, trying to figure out how they could continue to pursue their vendetta, now the Beit Din tied their hands. ==== SO THIS WHOLE STORY WITH THE ‘GRIEVING MOTHER’ WAS LIKE A GIFT FROM SHEMAYIM FOR THEM. And also for the corrupt Israeli police, and the corrupt media, and the sinisterly evil people abroad who are really pulling the strings behind this whole persecution of Rav Berland, and the Torah community in Israel. The complaint went like this: Rav Berland was taking large sums of money to promise cures that didn’t happen. Apparently, ‘someone from America’ paid Channel 13 a large amount of money to have that story canned. And other positive stories [https://ravberland.com/the-truth-behind-channel-13s-lies-part-i/] that appeared in the Israeli press to explain what had really happened were also quickly pulled offline, after being subjected to the usual threats made to anyone who tries to stand up for the Rav – or for the truth. ==== SO, FEW PEOPLE KNOW WHAT HAD REALLY HAPPENED. To sum it up, the complainant’s daughter died shortly after receiving the chemotherapy that her mother forced her to undergo, for her incurable cancer. If anyone should be hauled into court for manslaughter, surely it should be the doctors who administered the chemo, or the mother who forced her 40 yr old married daughter - mother of 4 children! - to have that treatment against her will…. But as we live in the upside-down world, what really happened is that the ‘grieving mother’ decided to make a complaint against the Rav to the Israeli police for manslaughter. Instead of dismissing it as the demented ravings of a ‘grieving mother’, like anyone else would have, the Israeli police instead seized on this complaint as a new pretext to launch another round of persecution against the Rav and his community. ==== Two weeks ago, they launched a dawn raid against Rabbi Berland and six of his gabbays, which saw tens of armed police overturn the Rav’s apartment and rifle through all of his cupboards, draws and bookcases. They found nothing. THE POLICE ALSO SEARCHED THE HOMES OF THE SIX GABBAYS, THEN ARRESTED THEM ON SUSPICION OF ‘GRAFT AND MONEY LAUNDERING’. To put this into plain English, the Rav’s gabbays were accused of receiving donations from people who wanted to give their money, from their own free choice, to Rabbi Berland. NO-ONE KNEW THAT IT WAS A CRIME TO DONATE HONEST MONEY TO YESHIVAS IN ISRAEL, BUT APPARENTLY, IT IS. The gabbays were kept in prison for days, and were leaned on by various officials from the police and the Shabak to turn ‘State’s Witness’ against Rav Berland. Who knows what was said… We can only imagine it was something along the lines of: “Tell us some lies about the Rav so we can launch a new court case against him, exactly the same as we did last time, and in return we won’t send you to prison for years on the ridiculous charge of accepting donations to Shuvu Banim from members of the public.” But Baruch Hashem, the gabbays stood firm. ==== LAST WEEK, THEY WERE ARRAIGNED TO APPEAR BEFORE A JUDGE. Their lawyer eloquently explained that if the State of Israel was about to make accepting donations a criminal offense, there was no yeshiva, school or charity that would be able to continue to operate in the length and breadth of the land. The judge agreed, and the gabbays were finally released to their homes. For two weeks, Shuvu Banim held its breath, waiting to see what’s going to be, with all this. The Rav continued on unruffled, still appearing for prayers, still officiating at brits and weddings, still making comments about the ‘spies’ all over the place, trying to see if he’d hidden billions away on some island in the Caribbean, and breaking down his walls to look for ‘stolen money’. ==== In the meantime, his persecutors decided to take things up to a new level, by openly writing Facebook posts about the best way to ‘kill’ the Rav, chas v’shalom a million times, and even creating a poll where people could vote. Someone from Shuvu Banim had enough, and filed a complaint with the police on behalf of the Rav about the death threats he was receiving. After all, these are psychos that appear in Youtube videos shooting guns at people with live ammunition. These are individuals who have already been convicted of shooting bullets through the door of a family home in Meah Shearim. They are connected to the mafia, they are connected to the dark forces in the world, you can’t just assume that people so consumed by hate are making empty threats against the Rav. ==== Then yesterday, another story appeared in the Israeli press that a recording had surfaced of a ‘Rabbi’, being asked to decide on ‘whether it is permitted to kill the Rav’ (chas v’shalom a million times.) Instead of closing the debate down and administering some severe mussar to the person who asked the question, this ‘Rabbi’ (whoever he is) pronounced that he wasn’t qualified to respond, and that the question should be put to ‘rabbis greater than he’. Clearly, they wouldn’t be hard to find. And so, the State of Persecution looks set to continue trying to get Rabbi Berland back in prison again, by hook or by crook, aided and abetted by the usual demented Breslov mafiosos and the anti-Torah media who just produce propaganda for the dark forces controlling the world, while pretending that it’s objective and honest reporting. ==== > Ad matai, Hashem? But maybe the better question to be asking is why is the State of Israel – and the people who are pulling the strings here, from behind the scenes in Europe and America – so obsessed with taking the Rav out? What are they so scared of? Why do they view an 82 year old man in frail health as such a big threat to them?
