Amazing first-hand account: The miracle baby

AMAZING FIRST-HAND ACCOUNT OF THE MIRACLE BABY Nachman (Baruch) Sagiv hails from the Israeli coastal town of Bat Yam. Before he made teshuva, Sagiv worked as a very successful and well-known male fashion model. Sagiv and many of his peers came back to Yiddishkeit as a result of his contact with Rav Eliezer Berland, shlita. These days, Nachman Sagiv spends a lot of his time learning Torah as an avreich (yeshiva student), in the chatzot (midnight) kollel that was opened up by the Rav in Bat Yam. He recently shared the following amazing story on the Breslov Information Line: “We just went through five years of exile, difficulties and suffering without the Tzaddik,” he begins. “Now, we just need to focus on as much as possible on receiving the light of the Tzaddik, and raising it up higher and higher. There’s absolutely no point in talking about other people [i.e. the Rav’s persecutors]. It won’t help us in any way, and it’ll only lead to heartbreak. “Instead, each of us need to revive ourselves from the Tzaddik’s light, as Beit Hillel did,[1] to spread and increase the light.” With his words of introduction concluded, Nachman Sagiv now launches into his amazing story: “My friend Moshe and I flew out visit Rav Berland, shlita, when he was in Amsterdam (as part of his long exile away from Eretz Yisrael.) I had two friends that I know from the chatzot kollel in Bat Yam, one who had three daughters and no sons, and another one who didn’t have any children at all. “The friend who only had daughters asked me to mention him to the Rav, shlita, and to ask the Rav for a blessing that he should merit to have a son. “Although I got to the Tzaddik with a very long list of my own requests for advice and blessings, I was really pained for this friend. I told the Rav, shlita, his story - and on the spot, the Rav called him up and spoke to him. He told him: ‘On the 10th of Sivan, your wife will be holding a son’ Rav Berland, shlita, told him. He actually promised him specifically that his wife would give birth to a son on that date - and I was a first-hand witness to the conversation. “OK, so even though this friend of mine really loves Rav Berland, shlita, over time he still had a lot of doubts crop up in his mind. Was his wife really going to fall pregnant? And if she did, who knew if it really would be a boy? And even more so, who could really believe that the child would be born on exactly the date that the Rav, shlita, had told him?” Sagiv continues: > “To cut a long story short, friends, on the Tenth of Sivan (Sunday, June 4th, 2017) this friend called me up, the one who doubted the Rav’s bracha, and told me that on exactly that day, his wife had given birth to a son. “The Tzaddik decreed in Amsterdam[2] - from the aspect of the ‘the Tzaddik decrees [and Hashem fulfills his words] - that on the 10th of Sivan, she would give birth to a son, and that’s exactly what happened. Today, at 5.30pm, his wife had a baby boy! “The guy who doubted the Rav’s bracha told me that he was publicizing the miracles that Rav Berland, shlita, may he live and be established, had done for him all over Bat Yam. See, what the power of the Tzaddik really is! And what amazing ruach hakodesh (prophetic spirit) Rav Berland has! [1] Beit Hillel and Beit Shammai were two famous Talmudic schools of thought that disputed points of Jewish law with each other. In one of their more well-known debates, Beit Hillel argued that a candle should be added each night during the festival of Chanuka - adding to the spiritual light in the world every day - while Beit Shammai held the opposite view.
