Last Friday, on the evening of 3 Marcheshvan, was the celebration of the Bar Mitzvah of the great-grandson of our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlitâa, the son of the Ravâs grandson Rav Shmuel Izik Zucker. The Bar Mitzvah took place with the participation of the Rav shlitâa who arrived together with hundreds of members of the community who came to take part in the celebration of the âhouse of Tzaddikim.â Immediately upon entering, the Rav began a fiery shiur of more than a half-hour, mainly on the holy words of the Zohar about the greatness of the Bar Mitzvah day, and the level of the Chatan Bar Mitzvah, on what he can work on this day. In the midst of the shiur, the Rav asked the Chatan, as is his holy custom, âDo you want to be a Tzaddik?,â and when he answered âYesâ without hesitation, the Rav said that certainly he will be a Tzaddik. He added that if they ask the Chatan Bar Mitzvah if he wants to be a Tzaddik, and he immediately answers âYes,â that he will truly merit to be a Tzaddik.

After the shiur, the Rav shlitâa blessed the Chatan âMazal Tov!â and the Chatan Bar Mitzvah did a sium (completion) of tractate Berachot together with the Rav shlitâa. After the sium, the Rav shlitâa left the celebration with the song, âLength of days and years of life they shall add for you!â

May it be His will that we should merit to see our Rebbe Rav Berland shlitâa continue to lead us, and to see fifth and sixth generations involved in Torah and Mitzvot to the light of Rabbeinu HaKadosh and his holy path which the Rav shlitâa leads us on, with health and spiritual elevation!!
