Beginning of Writing the Book of Bamidbar in Memory of Rabbi Eliyahu Meirav zt”l

On Monday, Rosh Chodesh Kislev, Parashat Vayetzei, an event was held at the home of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a to begin writing the Book of Bamidbar for the ilui neshama (soul elevation) of Rabbi Eliyahu Meirav ztvk”l.

As mentioned last year, on the Rav’s birthday, the writing of the Torah scroll for the release of the hostages and the ilui neshama of the murdered in the Simchat Torah massacre began.  After completing the books of Bereishit, Shemot, and Vayikra, the writing of Bamidbar has begun.  This time, it is being dedicated in memory of Rabbi Eliyahu Meirav ztvk”l, who took an indispensable role in the writing of the Torah for the salvation of Am Yisrael. Moreinu HaRav shlit”a wrote the first letters of Bamidbar and afterwards gave over words of Torah about the weekly Torah portion and other topics.  After the shiur, the Rav shlit”a poured LeChaim and spoke of the greatness of Rabbi Eliyahu Meirav ztvk”l, in whose memory the Book of Bamidbar is being written.
