Daniel Wonders: Why is the Redemption Delayed?! â The Daily Chizzuk with Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlitâa
THE DAILY CHIZZUK OF RABBI ELIEZER BERLAND SHLITâA â EVERYONE WANTS PEACE, BUT WHO WILL BRING IT? THESE ARE HIS HOLY WORDS: âFor thus said Hashem: After seventy years for Babylonia have been completed I will attend to you and I will fulfill for you My favorable promise, to return you to this place. For I know the thoughts that I am thinking for you â the word of Hashem; thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hopeâ (Yirmiyahu 29: 10-11). I know all thoughts â thoughts of peace â you want peace? Fine, there will be peace âstop worshipping idolatry and there will be peace! Itâs written in Daniel (9:1):   Where is this prophecy? Where is the prophecy? It written âseventy yearsâ â then why isnât it being fulfilled? âIn the first year of Darius son of Achashverosh, from the offspring of Media which ruled over the Kingdom of the Chaldeans. In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel contemplated the booksâ â I searched in all the books, âthe number of years about which the word of Hashem had come to the prophet Yirmiyahu, to complete the seventy years since the destruction of Jerusalemâ (Daniel 9:1-2). Now weâre waiting already 2,000 years â this year the redemption should come already.
