Rav Ofer Erez shlit"a in an interview with the Kav HaMeda Breslov:

"As we said last week, Moreinu HaRav shlit"a would spend Rosh Hashanah either in Uman or Jerusalem.  In spite of all the many efforts, Moreinu HaRav Berland did not succeed in making it to Uman.  However, his response was, "Every single step that we made in order to make it to our holy Rebbe was worth everything, and this certainly brought closer the complete redemption."

As is known, the Rav shlit"a spent Rosh Hashanah in Jerusalem and prayed with the community who remained in the Holy Land.
