GALLERY: Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlitâa at the Kotel with Thousands of Chasidim for Aliyah LaRegel
On Motzaâei Shabbat Kodesh, Parashat Naso, Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlitâa made the pilgrimage to the remnant of the Holy Temple during the days of âHashlamaâ for Shavuot (which includes the six days after Yom Tov itself), along with thousands of his Chasidim
About two and a half hours after completing Melavah Malkah, at 12:45 am, Moreinu HaRav shlitâa appeared at the Kotel plaza. The thousands who came from all over Israel were already waiting near the Kotel, welcoming him with the song âOr Zarua LaTzaddik.â It is worth noting that immediately upon stepping out of his car at the entrance to the menâs section, Moreinu HaRav spotted the moon and recited Kiddush Levanah. Due to the intense crowding around him, he did not prolong it in his usual holy manner. Afterwards, he approached the remnant of our Holy Temple â the Kotel, from which the Shechinah (Divine Presence) has never departed. He ascended the special platform that was prepared for him so that everyone gathered could behold his holy presence during this uplifting event. For close to an hour, Moreinu HaRav shlitâa said Tikkun HaKlaliâs, one after the next, with melody and pleasantness. Amid the fervor of the exalted event, Moreinu HaRav shlitâa kissed the holy stones of the Kotel again and again, his crystal-clear eyes lifting up silent prayers for the Am Yisrael, who are found in distress and captivity. At the conclusion of five Tikkun HaKlaliâs, Moreinu HaRav said Kaddish with a niggun and departed from the Kotel, accompanied by hundreds of people from our community singing âOr Zarua LaTzaddik.âFortunate are we that we merited!!
