On Monday, the night of 23 Kislev, an impressive convention was held in preparation for the days of Chanukah, under the auspices of the “Hitachadut HaAvreichim – The Association of Kollel Students,” affiliated with the Torah and educational institutions of Nechamat Tzion-Breslov.

Rabbi Nachman Edri, the principal of the Chochma V’Daat Yeshivas, hosted the event.  He first invited to the podium Rabbi Malka shlit”a.  After him, Rabbi Shmuel Itzik Rubenstein spoke, followed by the Moreh Tzedek (halachic authority) of our community and the head of the Kollel Hora’ah, Rabbi Nachman Kohen shlit”a.  He was followed by the Mashgiach of Chochma V’Daat, Rabbi Ashlag shlit”a. Holy trembling swept through the congregation when we were honored with the fiery words of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a about the greatness of the organization and the obligation of each person to be a part of its remarkable activities and to join this company of beloved and dear colleagues. After his holy words, Moreinu HaRav shlit”a blessed the participants, who answered “Amen.” For the conclusion of the event, the well-known entertainer, R’ Aharon Winterov took the podium for an hour of pure delight, who with rare and unique talent brought joy and feeling to the audience with rhymes and wondrous words about the greatness of the Hitachadut HaAvreichim.  After Birkat HaMazon, those present received a gift package that included olive oil blessed by Moreinu HaRav shlit”a for lighting the Chanukah candles and a special letter of blessing from the Rav shlit”a.
