In the Merit of This, We Will Have a New Building -- Campaign for Guarding Speech in Synagogue and Answering Amen

In recent weeks, the “Mora Mikdash” Institute, established by our holy community, launched a campaign following a letter of chizzuk from Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, who writes that in the merit of guarding one’s speech in the synagogue and through answering ninety “Amen”s every day until Simchat Torah, we will have a new synagogue, bezrat Hashem.  Here is the full letter:

Erev Shabbat Kodesh, Parashat Pinchas, 5784

A Letter of Chizzuk to Mora Mikdash

From now on, everyone should be careful not to speak idle speech in the new building, and not to speak any word during prayer, and in the merit of that, we will merit to see the coming of the Messiah.  And everyone should accept upon himself ninety “Amen”s for ninety days until Simchat Torah, which will be in another three months [from the time of the letter].  And in the merit of this, we will have a new synagogue of a thousand stories -- on every floor, ten Mikveh’s, and the building will spread over nine streets on four sides.  On every story will be a yeshiva for every age and every situation, and a complete yeshiva for each tractate.  And everyone will learn Choshen Mishpat, Orach Chaim, Even HaEzer, and Yoreh Deah, and there will be a special yeshiva for Kitzot HaChoshen, Netivot HaMishpat, Takfo Kohen, and a special yeshiva for Rashba, for Ramban, for Ritva, for Meiri, and a special yeshiva for the responsa of the Chatam Sofer, and a special yeshiva for the Noda BeYehuda, and likewise, for all the responsa in all generations.

With the blessing of the Torah and great love,

Eliezer Berland
