MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT"A WITH HOLY WORDS -- 23 CHESHVAN 5784: Rivka was the only kosher girl [in Charan], says Rashi.  Everyone learn the Parashah with Rashi, both boys and girls.  Eliezer, Avraham's slave, said “I cannot find a needle in a haystack” -- how is he supposed to find the kosher girl?  How will he find her?  How will he find out, who will he ask? Avraham said to him, "My angel will go before you" (Shemot 32:34) -- go with the angels.  Then he saw that the water rose to meet her.  The well was 700 meters deep.  The water came up by itself, and the pitcher jumped on its own.  It is written in the Midrash: How is it possible to provide water for ten camels?  Can a three-year-old girl provide water for ten camels?  Rather, the pitcher jumped by itself, and the camel drank thirty days [worth of water].  Fifteen minutes remain, "at evening time" (Yeshayahu 17:14), because they need to come before sunset.  In the past, [a girl] who came after sunset would be tied to the fence with a rag in her mouth.  Such is the custom in the territories to this day: a girl who arrives home after sunset is tied to the fence with a rag in her mouth so that her screams won’t be heard.  And she is in the cold, in snow, pouring rain – it doesn’t make a difference to anyone.  That is how it is for every [girl] who is late five minutes after sunset -- she receives deadly blows. Rivka says, “I need to run home.  If I am come after sunset, they will tie me to the fence, put a rag in my mouth, and give me deadly blows.  However, for your sake, I am staying here.”  Because Eliezer said, “I will tell her, ‘Let me sip, if you please, a little water’ (Bereishit 24 17) – a little bit.  If she brings [water] for all the camels, it is a sign that ‘You [God] designated’ [her for Yitzchak].” Because a woman always needs to give double.  [If they] ask for a cup, bring two cups.  To bring a cup of juice, bring two cups of juice.  To bring a matzah ball, bring mindelach, bring kreplach, bring blintzes. EVERY DAY NOW, TEN SOLDIERS ARE KILLED.  SADLY, THIS IS ALL BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE HAS LENGTHENED THEIR DRESSES YET. EVERY GIRL NEEDS TO LENGTHEN HER DRESSES UNTIL THE ANKLE – THEN WE WILL SEE THAT NO SOLDIER WILL BE KILLED. May we merit to a complete redemption speedily in our days, Amen!
