âMouth to mouth do I speak to himâ â Why is Parashat Behaâalotecha the Highest? â Shiur of Râ Berland Shlitâa
Before you is the full shiur of our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlitâa which was given over after Maâariv on Thursday evening, 11 Sivan â the day of the yahrzeit of âthe mother of royaltyâ â Mrs. Etiya bat Moshe aâh, the mother of the Rav shlitâa.
Then itâs written, âAt the image of Hashem does he gazeâ (Bamidbar 12:8). In the parasha â âMouth to mouth do I speak to him, in a clear vision and not in riddles,â that he merited to âmouth to mouth,â because Eliyahu wanted the mouth of Moshe. Therefore, Eliyahu entered the cave. There no one can enter with the Bedouins. There you need permission from the prosecutorâs office. So by the Bedouins, between the Bedouins, deep, deep, there is a cave, and whoever reaches there merits to âmouth to mouth do I speak to him, in a clear vision and not in riddles; at the image of Hashem does he gaze.â One sees the image of Hashem, Hashem mamash! âYou will see My back, but My face will not be seenâ (Shemot 33:23). Because now we are learning about the âface.â Now, through the tzaddik, one merits to the âface.â  Through the true tzaddik, itâs possible to merit to the âface.â Because this is parashat Behaâalotecha, which is the greatest of all parashaâs, because then we merit to âat the image of Hashem does he gaze.â Each person according to [his] Maâariv and Shacharit merits to âat the image of Hashem does he gaze,â sees Hashem face to face. Itâs written âbut My face will not be seen,â but he merits to âMy face will be seen.â So this parasha, this is the moment that itâs possible to merit, each person, to âMy face will be seen,â to see Hashem mamash face to face.Shiur begins at timecode 40:03
Before going to sleep, the Rebbe says, we see all 600,000 souls â in Sichot HaRan [90], that every person sees all 600,000 souls and all 600,000 tzaddikim. Therefore, now, on this night, this is the loftiest night, because then we see all 600,000 tzaddikim, we see âat Hashemâs image does he gaze,â and we see âmouth to mouth do I speak to him,â as Eliyahu HaNavi requested â âWhat do you have here [PoH] Eliyahu?â (I Kings 19:9). Eliyahu HaNavi said, âI want the mouth [PeH] of Moshe â âMouth to mouth I speak to him,â that through a person saying Tehilim, he merits to âmouth to mouth do I speak to him.âAt the beginning of the prayer, the Rav shlitâa lights a candle for the iluyi neshama (elevation of the soul) of his mother, Mrs. Etiya bat Râ Moshe aâh â the mother of royalty â 30 years since her passing.
