Prayer for First Night of Chanukah by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

Prayer for lighting the candle on the first night of Chanukah by Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a

To merit the light of the revelation of the Tzaddikim, and especially the light of the Tzaddik who is the foundation of the universe that is revealed with the lighting of the Chanukah candle

To believe in all the Tzaddikim who are in each and every generation

Ribbono Shel Olam – Master of the Universe, Who can do everything, behold, I am now before lighting the candle of the first night of Chanukah, for the Chanukah candles are 36, opposite the 36 kritiot (sins punishable by spiritual excision), opposed the 36 Tzaddikim who are in each and every generation, that anyone who does not believe in them is liable to karet, as it says, “That soul shall be cut off from its people.”  For the flame of the Chanukah candle, which is taken from the prayer of Channah, Channah Ku (חנה כו), as it says, “Channah prayed about Hashem,” that through the Chanukah candle, we merit to ascend to Atika Kadisha (the Holy Ancient One), Holy of Holies, Hidden of All, Concealed of All, for through the Chanukah candle, we merit to ascend above Atika Kadisha, for through the Chanukah candle which Channah drew down, the One Who performed miracles for our forefathers returned to us the 370 multitude lights which You took from Chava (Eve) at the time of the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, that this is what is intended when we say, “Who performed miracles for our forefathers,” the 370 multitude lights which we draw through the Chanukah candle in the blink 305 of an eye 130 = 435, that through this, Hashem Echad 1, we will draw the soul of Mashiach ben David = 434 = 435, who is the Tzaddik 209 foundation 80 of the world 146 = 435, who is revealed in each and every generation anew, especially during the lighting of the Chanukah candles, that then he is revealed with greater force and greater strength.
