Public Appeal: Kimcha D’Pischa for Poor Families by the Holy Community of Shuvu Banim

Entire families among our community are struggling with the troubling question: “Where will they find the large sums needed for the many expenses of Passover, and who knows what their Seder night will look like?”

“Ichud Chasidei Breslov” recognizes the great need and has taken upon itself the tremendous responsibility of providing the necessary assistance to every family in our community that requires it. As of now, just days before the beginning of the holy festival of Passover, we are making great efforts to provide a respectable food basket to all poor families. However, the expenses are significant, and we are still far from reaching the required amount. Therefore, we appeal to each and every person to contribute directly to this great and vital undertaking of Kimcha D’Pischa. With your help, these families will be able to enter Passover with dignity and peace of mind, knowing that, Bezrat Hashem, this holiday will also be a joyous one for them.

After successfully distributing Kimcha D’Pischa and taking care of 1,500 families last year, we hope, with your support, to reach at least this goal again this year. Already well-known are the holy words of the Tzaddik and Gaon, Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, who calls on everyone to be the Nachshon ben Aminadav of today—to take the leap into the water and donate generously to Am Yisrael as needed, so that they too can welcome the holiday with peace of mind and joy, just like you.

The words of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a to those who contribute to Kimcha D’Pischa:

“A person must jump into the water. “When a person gives tzedakah [especially for such an important mitzvah as Kimcha D’Pischa for the poor families of the Tzaddik], it is called jumping into the water. “It is written: ‘For his life depends on it.’ “You shall give him his wages on the same day, for his life depends on it. “Money is the blood (damim), the heart of a person. “A person works eight hours a day, or sixteen hours a day; he works thirty days. “One makes great sacrifices for his work, if this is winter. “All day he is occupied with accumulating wealth, and suddenly he is told—jump into the water! Give everything to tzedakah! Don’t keep a penny for yourself—you will see that you will experience miracles that have never been since the creation of the world. “Every person who gives tzedakah will immediately see their fate turn around, and they will become the richest person in the world, more than Rothschild.”

This year, with your generous support, we aspire to help even more families and provide even more essential items to fully meet their holiday needs.
