Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlitâa in Emotional Eulogy for Rabbi Eliyahu Meirav ztâl
MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLITâA EULOGIZES THE TZADDIK AND CHASID, ONE OF HIS GREATEST STUDENTS, A TEACHER OF TORAH TO THOUSANDS, WHO BROUGHT MANY BACK IN REPENTANCE, RABBI ELIYAHU MEIRAV ZTâL â 20 MARCHESHVAN 5785: Eliyahu (Rabbi Eliyah Meirav ztâl) did not pass away. He lives and endures â âChayei Sarah â the lives of Sarahâ â Sarah lives. And Avrahamâs life was 175 years â Avraham lives, and therefore, Eliyahu lives with us. He continues to live; he will live for eternity. He will live like Avraham â 175, like Shem [ben Noach] 600, and like Shet, 930 - Adam HaRishon. He was the soul of Adam HaRishon. He abandoned everything: Beit Alfa [the kibbutz that he grew up in], the planes â he abandoned everything. Even the planes, the Air Force.  He was an F-16 pilot. In Cyprus, he jumped from a height of twenty meters onto twenty terrorists who attacked the El Al plane. I was in Cyprus the day before. Afterwards, he arrived and jumped from twenty meters. He was a security guard on the plane â the plane was twenty meters high. [The problem is that] any Jew who kills a terrorist receives a life sentence. They wanted to give him a life sentence. Why did he kill âinnocentâ people,â ârighteous people,â five ârighteousâ people? But he saved a plane with 200 people, because if he hadnât jumped on the terrorists, the 200 people would have gone to the Garden of Eden â Baruch Hashem, they are all living among us. Now we must know that Eliyahu lives and endures. He was a soul from Adam Kadmon, a soul from Atika. He wasnât even a human; he was higher than an angel, [because] an angel doesnât need to abandon anything; he abandoned everything. He abandoned everything, the whole Air Force, the planes. He was a security guard for El Al, the number one pilot. He abandoned everything for the sake of Rabbeinu. He saw the Rebbe every minute alive and enduring. He is the only one in the whole generation to merit to see the Rebbe every second. All our work is to follow Eliyahu, that he will be spiritually impregnated within us, to request from Hashem that he will be spiritually impregnated within us, so that we will be able to see the Rebbe every second. Then we will merit to the complete redemption speedily in our days, Amen! https://vimeo.com/1032672886
