Rav Berland at Nechum Avelim by the Rebbe of Spinka

Last week, the city of Torah, Bnei Brak, was struck with shock at the tragic and sudden passing of Rabbanit Chana Deitsch, daughter of the Admor of Spinka Bnei Braka shlit”a.  On Sunday afternoon, 4 Iyar, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit”a came to comfort his close friend, the Admor of Spinka.

Moreinu HaRav shlit”a was honored to sit in the holy seat of the previous Rebbe, and gave over comforting words for some twenty minutes.  In the meantime, many Admorim arrived, among them: the Rebbe of Karlin-Stolin shlit”a, the Rebbe of Bohush shlit”a, the Rebbe of Lelov-Jerusalem shlit”a, the Rebbe of Karlin Lelov shlit”a.  The Admorim sat one after the next at the side of Moreinu HaRav shlit”a and pressed his hand for the blessing, “Shalom Aleichem.” During the Nechum Avelim (comforting of mourners), the small child of the deceased appeared.  Moreinu HaRav shlit”a instructed the orphaned boy to say Kaddish for the elevation of his mother’s soul.
