Last Thursday, 1 Iyar, Parshat Kedoshim, the Torah and Hasidic worlds received a shocking blow with the passing of the Elder among Admorim, the Rebbe of Biala ztvk”l.

Only a few days before the passing of the Rebbe, on Shabbat Kodesh, Parshat Achrei-Mot, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a was staying in the hospital in the room next to that of the Admor ztvk”l, who was hospitalized there because of a severe decline in his state.  After Shabbat, Moreinu HaRav shlit”a entered the room of the Rebbe for Bikur Cholim (visiting the sick) and blessed him with a refuah shelemah (speedy recovery), and the Rebbe answered “Amen.”  In retrospect, it turned out to be his last sickness, may his merit protect us.
