Rav Berlandâs Shiur from 12 Adar Alef
THE HOLY WORDS OF OUR REBBE, RAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLITâA, WHICH HE GAVE OVER ON SUNDAY, 12 ADAR ALEF 5782, AFTER THE MAâARIV PRAYER: âSo in [parashat] âVâAtah Tzevavehâ nothing is written at all. Someone took this out of the Chumash, because the Rambam said that Moshe remained only intellect. So itâs written in Rambam, that Moshe Rabbeinu remained only intellect â he shed his body completely. The moment he entered the cave, he already had no body at all. Itâs impossible to enter the cave with a body, because this rock was closed from all sides. ââCleft of the rock â Nikrat HaTzur.â There are those who say âTikrat HaTzur â the roof of the rockâ and there are those who say âLikrat HaTzur â to meet the rock.â There are several versions. You need to say âNikrat.â I had an argument with some people, and whoever isnât sure should look in the parashaâŚÂ Everyone can choose his own version. This is according to choice. There isnât religious coercion. Everyone choose. âIn any case, this is the cave which Hashem created on Friday evening, between the watches. Itâs written in Pesachim 54 and in Pirkey Avot â itâs written that the âcleftâ is something thatâs impossible to enter and that anyone who enters there, their body is completed incinerated. Immediately, he went up on horses of fire and chariots of fire. He merited to ascend on chariots of fire because the âman Mordechaiâ is Moshe Rabbeinu himself. âMoshe Rabbeinu himself comes down in every generation. Therefore, in the parasha heâs already not mentioned, because he comes down anew in every generation. Therefore, itâs written âthe man Mordechaiâ and âthe man Mosheâ -- âMoshe, the man of G-d.â âBecause the king said to Queen Esther, âYou donât understand my guarding of the eyes. I now saw you; thereâs no one like you in the whole world.â All the vows that a woman vows, he says to her, âThereâs no one like you; how nice, such an important woman!â He needs to tell her, âThereâs no one like you in the world.â If he tells her âthereâs no one like you in the world,â then itâs considered that he fulfilled the vow. âYou need to say, âMy wife, many women have amassed achievement, but you have surpassed them all.â Every day say this! Whoever doesnât say this every day shouldnât get married! Anyone who doesnât know to say this, then in the end there will be divorce in the meantime. âA person needs to tell his wife every day⌠so itâs written in the Zohar, page 49, that anyone who doesnât know to say this every day to his wife or to hint to her âmany women have amassed achievement, but you have surpassed them allâ â you surpass them all. Because every woman is something unique, something new, a new creation. No, there wasnât, nor will be like her! Every woman is something completely new. Educating the children and everything.  The children receive the intellect of the mother. âTherefore, from Hashem is an intelligent (MaSKeLeT) woman, that she wonât be a bereaved (MiSHaKeLeT) woman. If a person marries for blemishing the covenant and lusts, there will be divorce in the end. Every place where thereâs lust, there will be divorce in the end. This is a verse in Mishlei. I didnât write this verse: 18:1 â âOne who removes himself to court lustâŚâ If a person marries for the sake of lust, then it finishes off everything! He needs to know not to get married for the sake of lusts. âSo now Achashverosh certainly knew to say the right words: âwoman of valor,â âyou have surpassed them all,â âyouâre my eyesâŚyouâre my heartâŚyouâre my life,â but he says that law is law. Now they want to conquer 127 countries. Now Putin wants to conquer the Ukraine. Law is law. Itâs impossible to cancel out a law.  Anyone should come and say I want to cancel out the law? What is this here, childâs play?! âItâs forbidden. Law is law. What does Esther say to him? By me, thereâs no such thing. By me, youâre worthless, and the law is worthless. ââEsther yet again spoke to the king, she fell at his feet, and wept, and implored him.ââ (The Rav and the community singâŚ)
