SHIUR OF OUR REBBE RAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A FROM TUESDAY EVENING, 24 IYAR, AFTER MA’ARIV AND SEFIRAT HAOMER: So Hashem asks Eliyahu HaNavi, “’What are you [doing] here Eliyahu?’ (II Kings 19:13).  What are you doing here?  How did you bypass the guards?  How did you enter without permission?”  Because he had the secret key which opens the gate.  In this way he entered inside.  And who enters there?  Only two.  This was Moshe and Eliyahu HaNavi.  Only two entered.  It’s impossible more [than this].  There’s no space for more. The shiur begins at timecode 1:29:16 Then Hashem asked him, “What are you doing here?  How did you get here?  Why are you here?”  What did he say?  “The Children of Israel abandoned Your brit (covenant)” (ibid. 10).  Hashem said to him, “’Abandoned Your brit’?  What are you talking about?  They all perform brit milah.  Why [do you say], ‘They abandoned Your brit’?” “Because the Children of Israel abandoned Your brit…and Your prophets they killed.”  They didn’t kill any prophets!  Only Isabel killed.  It’s forbidden to harm Isabel.  Why is it forbidden to harm Isabel?  Because she dances all day.  She jumps on her heals.  The dogs didn’t eat the heals and didn’t eat the hands.  The moment that a person jumps…the main thing is the jump!  When a person jumps on his heals – this is the whole matter.  The moment that a person jumps on his heals, immediately the complete redemption will come!
