Rosh Chodesh Tammuz – “The Secret of the Gulgolta” by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

A POWERFUL SHIUR BY MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A FROM 26 SIVAN 5777 (6-20-17), ABOUT ROSH CHODESH TAMMUZ: ON THE FIRST OF TAMMUZ IS THE YAHRZEIT OF YOSEF HATZADDIK, AND IT IS THE SECRET OF THE GULGOLTA [LIT. “THE SKULL,” A LEVEL REPRESENTING THE “HEAD” OF THE DIVINE PERSONA OF ARICH ANPIN (THE “LONG FACE” – KETER)].  BECAUSE THEN THE GULGOLTA SHINES, IN THE ASPECT OF “THE CROWN OF THE ELECT OF HIS BROTHERS” (BEREISHIT 49:26).  AND THEN EACH AND EVERY PERSON MERITS TO THE MYSTERY OF THE GULGOLTA. ON THE 1ST OF TAMMUZ, IT IS POSSIBLE TO REVIVE ALL THE DEAD IN THE WORLD.  THEREFORE, EVERYONE NEEDS TO TRAVEL TO YOSEF HATZADDIK OR TO REBBE NACHMAN, BECAUSE REBBE NACHMAN IS THE ASPECT OF YOSEF HATZADDIK. And through travelling to the Tzaddik, we merit to atone for the blemish of drops [of seed], because we were all spiritually “impregnated” in the ten brothers, and we all were involved in the persecution of Yosef HaTzaddik.  Yosef HaTzaddik was inside a pit mamash, without electricity, without candles, in total darkness, and even so, he danced 24 hours nonstop. It is written in Midrash Tanchuma, that that wicked woman [Potiphar’s wife] would change clothes three times a day [in order to seduce Yosef], because all of this was a rectification for the sin of the Tree of Knowledge.  And whoever did not eat from the Tree of Knowledge can be with the Rav 24 hours. And since the 1st of Tammuz is the Yahrzeit of Yosef HaTzaddik, then it is also the Yahrzeit of Rachel Emeinu.  The Yahrzeit of Rachel Emeinu is on 11 Cheshvan, which is the month of Scorpions [i.e. Scorpio].  Rechavam said, “This is what you should say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s loins!  So now, my father saddled you with a heavy yoke, and I shall add to your yoke!  My father chastised you with sticks; I shall chastise you with scorpions!’” (I Melachim 12:11).  But really, Rechavam wanted everyone to learn Torah.  It is written in Eicha that Jerusalem was only destroyed because they played ball on Shabbat, because then there were no Gemara’s.  Until Ravina and Rav Ashi wrote the Gemara, the Oral Torah was written only in Rashei Tevot (acronyms). There are seven Tzaddikim who did not eat from the Tree of Knowledge.  Therefore, it is said, “the crown of the elect of his brothers.”  Yosef merited to the secret of the Gulgolta, the crown.  In the Gulgolta are 13 Chivartei, 13 white lines, and from these, all mercy comes to the world.  Yosef HaTzaddik bursts open all the mercy, and therefore, he tests the brothers with the goblet [Gaviya], the secret of 13 [the expansion of Havana whose numerical value is 72-] A”V [גביע=י"ג ע"ב].  Mordechai and Esther knew the secret of the goblet, because they are the children of Rachel, whose Yahrzeit is in the month of Cheshvan, which is the month of scorpions.
