Shiur at Home of Rav Berland Shlit”a for Holon Residents

On Wednesday, Parashat Terumah, the night of 29 Shevat, a shiur was held at the home of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a for members of our community from the city of Holon.  Here is a summary of topics covered during the shiur, which lasted around forty minutes:

Adam HaRishon observed all the holidays.  The Afikomen is most important.  All the Zohar is sayings from Adam HaRishon.  Rabbi Akiva had to go through iron combs because he didn’t come to all the shiurim.  Rabbi Yehoshua and Rabbi Eliezer went on Seder night to their disciple, Rabbi Akiva, because he spoke about the most miracles.  In World War I, the greatest officers were Jews, and the Germans said that they lost the war because of them.  If a person misses a shiur by the Tzaddik, he cannot rectify his reincarnations.  People on October 7th and also during the Holocaust turned into angels, like the children of the Bibas family, who turned into angels.  The terrorists’ greatest pleasure was hearing their screams.  Shabbat is entirely about Zemirot (songs).  You don’t need to be home to eat – the entire thing is to sing the Zemirot with the children.  Pharaoh gave fifteens days for holidays – Passover and Succot.  Antiochus – eight days.  Haman knew that he would lose, but he didn’t want to give more than one day for a holiday.  Therefore, he said to “annihilate, kill, and destroy in one day.”  But this year, there will be seven: The Megilah can be read from the 11th until the 17th, so it comes out seven days.  We would travel with passports, twenty people in one group, from twenty different countries, and they already had taken us out to execution.  In the end, the commander arrived and yelled: “Get out of here with your passports.  I don’t want to see you anymore.”  It is possible to conquer Gaza in one day – it’s all politics.  The Ramban explains that all the people of Shechem wanted to repent, so Yaakov became angry with Shimon and Levi and cursed them with not receiving a portion in the Land.  All the Kibbutzim were taken over; the army only arrived the following day.  They put Rav Hamnuna in prison; then Eliyahu HaNavi arrived and knocked over the wall and he left. The Rambam disputes the Ramban and rules that if a gentile sees another gentile steal, he must kill him; if he doesn’t kill him, anyone who knows about the theft is liable to death.  Therefore, all Shechem were liable to death.  So Trump, who holds like the opinion of the Rambam, merited to become president on the yahrzeit of the Rambam.  The Chidushei HaRim says that this sugya was the bar mitzvah sermon of Shimon and Levi.
