The important Kollel students of âNachaley Netzachâ -- under the direction of Râ Shmuel Stern shlitâa, one of the great students of Rav Berland -- merited to enter the inner sanctum on Wednesday evening â the night of 11 Iyar, for a special shiur by our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlitâa.
In the shiur, the Rav spoke about a number of topics, including: the holiness of a person and the unification, receiving scorn with love, the value of lengthy prayer and holy melodies, the level of Lag BâOmer and the preparation for the coming Shavuot, the holiday celebrating the giving of the Torah, and more words of the Living G-d from his holy mouth.
Below is a small section from the shiur:
âBecause now we are counting to the Shavuot holiday! We donât count â not for Yom Kippur, not for Rosh Hashanah, and not for Simchat Torah, and not for making a Succah do we count. And not for Seder night do we count. We donât count from Purim until Seder night. But here, for the sake of the giving of the Torah, we need to count every day. Because every day is âto purify ourselves from all dross and blemishâ â we say this for the giving of the Torah, to receive the Tablets. Hashem wants to give us the Tablets â now, before Mashiach comes, Hashem wants to give the Tablets anew!â
After the shiur, the participants went out to the courtyard of the Prayer Hall to pray the Maâariv prayer and to count Sefirat HaOmer along with the Rav shlitâa.
