Shiur to Residents of Bat Yam at Home of Rav Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

On Monday night, 7 Tevet, a group from Bat Yam, students of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, entered his holy home for a shiur.  The Rav gave over a shiur of around forty minutes in which he gave chizzuk, inspired and revealed novelties in Torah.  Here is a portion of the subjects about which the Rav spoke in the shiur:

For most of the shiur, the Rav shlit”a, focused on the matter of Rivka the Tzadeket and how she bestowed kindness even on someone she did not know, and she offered him to drink and even watered his camels.  The Rav said that we need to learn from here that whenever someone requests a glass of water, to give him two glasses.  Later the Rav discussed Parshat Vayigash and brought the question from the book “Ma’ayanah Shel Torah”: Why does Yosef speak with Pharaoh about good or bad stocks, given that on Passover the world is judged on grain.  He brought the answer that on Rosh Hashanah the world is judged about the rise of a person to greatness, and this is what Yosef said about the matter of the stocks, that this isn’t about the grain, rather it is about the rise of a person to greatness – and thus he says, “See to appoint a wise and understanding man.”
