The Accuser Tries to Distance One from the Tzaddik â Daily Chizzuk by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlitâa
THE DAILY CHIZZUK BY MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLITâA â THE SATAN SHOWED TO THEM MOSHEâS BIER Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi said: When Moshe ascended on high, he found the Holy One Blessed is He binding crowns to the letters. He said, âMoshe, are there no greetings in your city?â He said to Him, âIs there a servant who greets his master?â He said to him, âYou should have helped Me.â Immediately, he said to Him, âAnd now, may the strength of my Lord be magnified as You have spoken.â And Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi said: What is the meaning of that which is written, âThe people saw that Moshe had delayed [in descending the mountain]?â Do not read this âvosheish (delayed).â Rather, âvaâu sheish (six have passed).â When Moshe ascended on high, he said to the Jewish people, âAt the end of forty days, at the beginning of the sixth [hour], I will come back.â At the end of forty days, Satan came and threw the world into confusion.  He said to them: âMoshe, your teacher, where is he?â They told him, âHe ascended on high.â He said to them, âSix have passed.â However, they paid no attention to him. [The Satan said:] âHe has died.â But they paid no attention to him. He showed them the image of his bier. And that is why they said to Aharon, âfor this man, Moshe, etc.â (Shabbat 89a) WEDNESDAY, 15 TEVET 5785 â BRESLOV CHASIDIM ARE THE ONES WITH THE REBBE WHO TRULY LIVES These are his holy words: The Tzaddik does everything. You need to know that everything is delusions. There are no wars, thereâs nothing. This is all the Accuser who is making it so that people wonât reach the Tzaddik. Like with Moshe Rabbeinu, that the Satan showed them Moshe Rabbeinuâs bier. Itâs written in the Gemara (Shabbat 89a) that he showed to them Moshe Rabbeinuâs bier. Moshe brought them to the level where they could live forever.  Then the Accuser showed to them Mosheâs bier, his funeral. 1. Moshe was alive. This was falsehood. 2. Even if it was true, Moshe is alive. Even if it is true that Moshe passed away at the age of 120 â still, Moshe lives! The Tzaddik lives, Moshe lives, Rabbeinu lives! People call Breslov Chasidim the âdead Chasidimâ [because their Rebbe passed away]. But they are the dead ones. During their lives, they are called dead. We are walking with a living Rebbe, a living Rebbe who controls the whole world. We are saying now that the Satan can do everything. He can show them Moshe Rabbeinuâs bier, show them a bier, a funeral with angels walking with black candles. He showed them the image of his bier, and that is why they said to Aharon, âFor this is Moshe, the manâŚâ (Shemot 32:1). They mamash saw him on the bier. The Satan can make a million stage plays -- with dĂŠcor. The Jewish people were stubborn with the Satan. They told him, âMoshe is alive.â The Satan said, âNo, here is his bier.â The Satan argued with them. The Jewish people erred by a day, because the day that Moshe ascended to heaven didnât count in the calculation of forty days. Therefore, âGod ascends with the terua, Hashem with the sound of the shofarâ (Tehilim 47:6). The shofar blast was so that they would know when Moshe was descending, so they wouldnât make the same mistake again. So, from 1 Elul until Yom Kippur, they blasted the shofar every day in order to make it known that Moshe was alive, Moshe will descend. Because for forty days, Moshe is nowhere. Itâs the end! People became confused. How long is it possible to wait? For âthey strayed quickly from the way that I commanded themâ (Shemot 32:8). It is written, âThey strayed quicklyâ: Letâs go make a calf. Moshe ascended and thatâs it. If Moshe ascended, he wonât come down anymore. What do you mean that heâll come down? What do you mean that Moshe will come down? [They thought that Moshe would never come down.] For what [reason] do we come into the world? What are we doing here in the world? We need to eat three meals a day.  Food is the greatest of all tortures. So for forty days, Hashem freed Moshe from eating â another forty days and another forty days. We read three times in Parashat Ekev, âThey strayed quickly from the way.â âThey strayed quicklyâ â what does âquicklyâ mean? Within a second! Within a second, Moshe just turned his back, and they said, âThis is the end! Letâs make a calf.â Every day, there are still judgments from the sin of Adam HaRishon, from the generation of Enosh, from the generation of the flood. The Satan can make wars and all types of things. The main thing is that people wonât reach the Tzaddik. If people reach the Tzaddik, they live until 120. Whoever reached the Tzaddik doesnât have sicknesses or weakness. https://vimeo.com/1046858540
