THE DAILY MA’AMAR OF OUR REBBE RAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A, COURTESY OF THE “HASHEM HU HAELOKIM” LEAFLET: THE SECRET OF “HIS GLORY WILL BE LIKE THE HORNS OF A RE’EIM, WITH THEM HE SHALL GORE NATIONS TOGETHER, TO THE ENDS OF THE LAND; THEY ARE THE MYRIADS OF EPHRAIM, AND THE THOUSANDS OF MENASHEH” “The horns of a re’eim” are Netzach Hod Yesod of Tevunah [the feminine aspect of Binah/Understanding] which are dressed in the head of Zeir Anpin [the “Small Face”], and with them Yaakov will gore all the nations. Because on Lag B’Omer, the blemish of “A man wrestled with him” is rectified – that Hod ShebeHod of Yaakov, which is opposite Netzach ShebeNetzach in Rachel, was blemished, and through this, the mentalities of Chochmah (Wisdom) and Binah of Adam Kadmon [“Primordial Man,” the highest of the five supernal worlds] – the secret of all secrets, concealed of all that is concealed – disappeared. Because Atik [the Ancient of Days] dresses Adam Kadmon only from the navel and downward, and so too Arich Anpin {the “Long Face”] dresses Atik only from the navel and downward. And through the “first of your land’s early produce” that we bring on the festival of Shavuot, we shall merit to unite Chochmah and Binah of Adam Kadmon. And the illumination of all the worlds which raises feminine waters, to Chochmah and Binah of Adam Kadmon begins from Lag B’Omer, that then Hod ShebeHod of Zeir Anpin -- in which Yaakov Avinu is included -- is rectified. Then we begin to draw the “light of the sun” to the Land of Israel, in the mystery of the verse “May the Tzaddik flourish in his days with abundant peace until there is no moon” [Tehilim 72:7]. And then “I forged a covenant with My chosen one, I swore to David My servant, forever I will establish your seed and build your throne for generation after generation, Sela” [Tehilim 89:4-5], because only through the true Tzaddik is it possible to return the “light of the sun” to the Land of Israel. And this is what David said (Tehilim 116:9): “I shall walk before Hashem in the lands of the living,” that there the sun shines. And this is what Moshe Rabbienu, may peace be upon him, asked when he sent the spies, saying “Are there trees in it or not?” The Zohar says in Beshelach Lechah: So Moshe did not know that there are trees in it? Behold, it is the “land flowing with milk and honey,” and it has all the species in it, and ten men pulled one cluster [of grapes], and another pomegranate and fig. If so, what is the question “Are there trees in it or not”?! Rather, the Zohar says: “Tree” – this is the Tree of Life – the light of the sun which will shine in the Land of Israel.
