The Tzaddik is the One who Controls the Missiles from Iran – Daily Shiur by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a
HERE IS A SUMMARY OF THE DAILY SHIUR OF MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A, GIVEN ON TUESDAY, THE NIGHT OF 22 SIVAN, PARASHAT SHELACH-LECHA: This Shabbat we read Shelach-Lecha, and in Likutey Halachot it explains what the spies' mistake was. One must know Likutey Halachot by heart. Now the yeshivot have been shut down — the Iranians are against the yeshivot. So we must learn [Likutey] Halachot with our wives. It says, "By the word of Hashem" — so why did they (the spies) make a mistake? It says “men of Hashem” — it’s not random! He chose the men by the word of Hashem. And also by Korach, who was the most righteous — it says that in the future he will be the Kohen Gadol; "The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree," as we say in Kabbalat Shabbat. Rabbi Chaim Sonnenfeld would melt during Lecha Dodi. So this is the “sofei tevot (final letters)” of "Korach." So Korach, who was the most righteous and so clever — what did he see in this nonsense?! All this is written in Hilchot Arev 5 — these are the final halachot that Rabbi Natan wrote. All of this must be learned. Now there are 5 hours — either one goes to sleep and gets up at Chatzot, or stays up all night and at 5:30 prays vatikin (sunrise), and afterwards one can sleep from 6:00 to 9:00. It’s such a short night, there’s no time to sleep. So how did Korach fall into such foolishness? He used to fly in the air, and Moshe Rabbeinu would go on foot — and since they were flying, they thought they were greater than Moshe. But they didn’t realize that the Tzaddik is the one making them fly. The Tzaddik controls everything — he launches the missiles! He decides where they will land! Therefore, it falls there and not there. A person thinks he's doing something — but the Tzaddik is doing it all!! From Minchah on Shabbat, one can already start reading Korach with Rashi. Korach had a righteous wife, who suddenly saw him without his pe’ot. Because Moshe Rabbeinu decreed that all Levites must shave their pe’ot and beards. When his wife saw him like that, she went crazy! She said, "I’m going all the way — I’ll tear down his tent, I’ll incite the whole camp against him!" She incited everyone against him. Only the two sons of Aharon, two of his own sons, and Miriam were left — just seven people, not even enough for a minyan. So there’s a long Chatzot — the girls should stay up until 4, the boys should stay up all night and learn Shelach-Lecha, and begin Korach. The spies didn’t want to enter the Land without Moshe. When Miriam heard “Moshe is dead,” she fainted on the spot. When a man says he’ll be back at 7 in the evening, he has to understand that one minute after 7, his wife is already certain that he’s been stabbed, or a missile fell on him -- that he’s already been killed. He must call and inform her — otherwise, if he comes home, at best he’ll find a woman on the verge of dying from worry. “Ran like a river through dry places” — between the tents they travelled in boats, like in Venice. So the spies were not willing to enter the Land without Moshe. But they were mistaken, because if Moshe says to enter — then you enter! And “Moshe is dead” — the intention is that there will be resurrection of the dead. This means that if “Moshe is dead,” he’ll rise up after five minutes and there will be the complete redemption, speedily in our days, Amen!
