THE DAILY CHIZZUK OF MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A – SUNDAY, 24 SIVAN 5784 ELIEZER SAYS TO RIVKA’S FAMILY, “I ASKED HER, ‘WHO ARE YOU?’ BEFORE I GAVE HER THE JEWELRY.” AVRAHAM ORDERED ME TO TAKE [A WIFE] ONLY FROM HIS FAMILY, “UNLESS YOU GO TO MY FATHER’S HOUSE.”  IMMEDIATELY, ELIEZER QUESTIONED AVRAHAM, “PERHAPS THE WOMAN WILL NOT GO?” AVRAHAM ANSWERS HIM “MY ANGEL WILL GO – ‘HE WILL SEND HIS ANGEL WITH YOU AND MAKE YOUR WAY SUCCESSFUL.’” Eliezer asks Avraham, “How will I find her?” The commentators learn from here that they [the women in Haran] were all blemished, they were all wicked, they were all contemptible.  So Avraham said to him, “He will send His angel with you and make your way successful.” Then he saw there a well 700 meters deep.  “Jacob’s Well” is named after the well that they dug there.  They dug 700 meters and found a well.  In Rishon, they dug to a depth of 800 meters.  The well that was in Rishon was a depth of 800 meters. Because there was no water in the Land of Israel.  This is a land which doesn’t have water, so why was Esav jealous at all of Yaakov for the blessing he received? Why are you jealous?  You received Guatemala, the most beautiful land in the world.  Why are you jealous of Yaakov? “Esav hated Yaakov because of the blessing” (Bereishit 27:41). Rather, Yaakov received, “And may God give you of the dew of the heavens and of the fatness of the earth” (ibid 27:28). ESAV RECEIVED THE OPPOSITE, [IT IS WRITTEN IN THE OPPOSITE ORDER,] “OF THE FATNESS OF THE EARTH...AND OF THE DEW OF THE HEAVENS” (IBID 39).  THE DEW OF ESAV IS PHYSICAL DEW, IT IS FROM THE FATNESS OF THE EARTH.  BUT THE DEW OF YAAKOV IS THE DEW OF THE REVIVAL OF THE DEAD. Esav said, “I want the dew of the revival of the dead.  My father Yitzchak tricked me.”  Therefore, “Esav hated” – Yaakov could revive the dead. It is written in the Midrash that after Yosef saw the dreams, “The sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”  The moon is Rachel.  Ah Rachel?  It is a sign that there will be the revival of the dead from his days – revival of the dead from his days through the Tzaddik.
