Tonight – the second candle of Chanukah, a time when the light increases and the darkness yields, tens of thousands from the nation of Israel lit the second candle of Chanukah, to draw down the light of simple emunah (faith), strengthening of the mind, and simcha (joy) of the heart amidst the days of concealment.

Our teacher and master, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, also lit the second candle of Chanukah, as thousands of our community members gathered and came from all over the country, to be included in the holy event, to stand by the light of the tzaddik, who reveals in every generation the light of Chanukah within the darkness.

Here is documentation from the lighting event – first in our Beit Midrash, and then at the lighting in the menorah of his holy residence, in an atmosphere of kedushah (holiness) and devotion, abundant prayer and awakening of the heart, to draw the light of Chanukah into all the days of the year, to strengthen in emunah, simcha, and hope for complete salvation with mercy.
