Trump’s Ultimatum and the Breslov Cry – Current Affairs Column from ā€œThe Breslov Shuvu Banim Bulletinā€

* HOW TO LEARN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MOMENTUM: FROM TRUMP'S ULTIMATUM TO THE BRESLOV CRY * NACHMAN GILAD IN A CURRENT AFFAIRS COLUMN FROM THE BRESLOV BULLETIN – THE PLATFORM OF CHASIDEI BRESLOV - SHUVU BANIM Even though everyone already knows, and has gotten used to the fact that with Trump, the unexpected is expected, he still manages to surprise everyone each time. That’s exactly what happened this week on Monday night (Israel time). In an interview with Fox News, Trump announced a new ultimatum: If Hamas does not release all the hostages by the coming Shabbat, the ceasefire agreement will collapse, and with it, the gates of hell will be opened upon the Gazans. And all this while the world is still reeling from his 'transfer plan'—Trump’s future vision for Gaza, which involves the voluntary deportation of the (terrorist) residents of Gaza to Jordan and Egypt, flattening the entire strip, toppling Hamas, and turning the place into a dream island of hotels and resorts. Even Ben Gvir never dreamed of such a vision in his wildest dreams. And now, it all depends on how wisely Israel takes advantage of this moment of opportunity—to eradicate the Nazi Hamas and demand, with full force, the return of all the hostages to their homes. From the White House’s perspective, the check is blank—Israel just needs to know how to use it. Anyone who has been following the news closely can see that many commentators are trying to downplay the ultimatum, settling for the previously agreed-upon phased release rather than going all in. As of the time of writing, Israel's course of action remains unclear, and if, God forbid, it fails to seize this moment, there is no greater missed opportunity. As Breslov Chassidim, we can take a major lesson from this for our personal battle against the yetzer hara (evil inclination). We are in exalted days, days when in Breslov we cry out: "Save me from the impurity of Haman-Amalek and grant me the holiness of Mordechai and Esther." In Breslov, we know that Haman-Amalek represents the root of all evil—despair and spiritual distance—whereas the holiness of Mordechai and Esther represents closeness and attachment to the light of the Tzaddik, the very foundation that is everything is dependent on. This means that we, too, have a special ultimatum—a tremendous time of favor during these 40 days leading up to Purim to go all the way and recognize that the old and foolish enemy, that cruel Nazi Haman-Amalek, is responsible for everything we endure. We must demand, with unwavering determination—just as Moreinu HaRav frequently declares: "We must never give up, never give up!"—to increase our prayers about this in Hitbodedut, in the prayers, and during every free moment, to merit to draw close to the true Tzaddik. Until, ultimately, we merit the return of all that we have lost, for eternity. THE PLATFORM OF BRESLOV CHASSIDIM SHUVU BANIM!
