Why Did Rabbi Avraham Send Rav Bender Away from Uman? â Daily Chizzuk by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlitâa
WHAT CAN A PERSON DO TO MAKE SURE THAT BEING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE TZADDIK DOESNâT BECOME ROUTINE? THE DAILY CHIZZUK BY MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLITâA HOW CAN WE RENEW OUR YEARNING FOR HOLY PLACES? TUESDAY, 29 IYAR 5785 Now our friends our travelling, bezrat Hashem, to Uman for Lag BaOmer. Rabbi Levi Yitzchak [Bender] wanted to remain in Uman for Lag BaOmer, but Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Nachman of Tulchin didnât allow him. He told him, âYou arenât staying here in Uman for Lag BaOmer.â Rabbi Levi Yitzchak had just one more day to stay until Lag BaOmer, but the two weeks had ended. Therefore, Rabbi Avraham told him, âYouâre returning home.â He told him that itâs forbidden to be in Uman for more than two weeks. After that, it turns into something routine, like something for no reason. Even in regard to the Kotel, a person needs to take a break of a week, and only then resume going to the Kotel, so that there will be renewal. So Rabbi Avraham did not allow Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender to remain in Uman by any means whatsoever, even though it was exactly a day before Lag BaOmer. He told him: âGo and return immediately, but you must travel. You need to take a break. You need to renew the longing, the desire.â Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender would recount that itâs forbidden to stay in Uman for more than two weeks, because after that, it becomes something routine. https://vimeo.com/1088211662
