Minchah and Maâariv of Motzaâei Tisha BâAv with Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlitâa
âIn truth, every Motzaâei Tisha BâAv, a Temple of fire should descend!â Before is a review of Minchah with Tallit and Tefillin and Maâariv of Motzaâei Tisha BâAv with the participation of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland Shlitâa:
Towards sunset, a 6:50 PM, Moreinu HaRav shlitâa came out for Minchah crowned with Tallit and Tefillin and began âBrich Shâmeiâ with the niggun âYehe Ravah Kadamachâ for opening the ark, which lasted for about ten minutes. Afterwards, he said the entire text for taking out the Torah in a loud voice and called a Kohen to come up. He then began the Torah reading for Tisha BâAv, âVayachel Mosheâ with the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy. Itâs worth noting that throughout the prayer, Moreinu HaRav was in a state of unusual fervor. The Haftarah was read by the bar mitzvah boy, Nachman ben Râ Elisha Toledano, who on this Tisha BâAv entered the yoke of Torah and Mitzvot. Afterwards, the Torah scroll was returned to the ark, and Moreinu HaRav shlitâa began the Amidah prayer of Minchah with âNachemâ and âAneinu.â At the conclusion of the chazzanâs repetition, the Rav completed the order of the âSong of the Day,â âKaveh El Hashem,â and the Korbanot, and even continued with âAna Bekoach.â Veterans of the community related that they donât recall a similar event where the entire order of korbanot was recited after Minchah on Tisha BâAv, and that this is a very interesting chidush. After completing âAleinu Leshabeach,â the Rav shlitâa asked for a copy of Tractate Bava Batra and began to give over a fiery shiur about Motzaâei Tisha BâAv for some twelve minutes. At exactly 8:00, Moreinu HaRav began Maâariv with the niggunim of every day. After Maâariv, the Rav shlitâa gave over his regular daily shiur. After the shiur, he sang the songs of Rabbeinu for about ten minutes and then entered his holy home.May it be His will that just as we merited to mourn together with Moreinu HaRav shlitâa, so may we merit to see the building of our Holy Temple speedily in our days, Amen!
