Parashat VaEtchanan by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

WHAT DID MOSHE RABBEINU REQUEST IN HIS 515 PRAYERS AND HOW DOES THE TZADDIK IGNITE THE ENTIRE WORLD WITH A BLAZING FIRE FOR HASHEM?  PARASHAT VAETCHANAN BY MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A: “I IMPLORED HASHEM AT THAT TIME, SAYING…” “I implored Hashem at that time, saying, ‘Let me now cross and see the good Land.  You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand, for what power is there in the heaven or on the earth that can perform according to Your deeds and according to Your mighty acts?’”  Moshe Rabbeinu brought the Jewish people out of Egypt in the Clouds of Glory, brought the Ten Plagues, and after this, the splitting of the Red Sea.  And after this, he brought to them the Torah and the Clouds of Glory.  Everyone heard the Ten Commandments.  He brought the Clouds of Glory to them.  The manna was his, Miriam’s well – everything was in the merit of Moshe Rabbeinu.  And after all of this, Moshe says, “I implored.”  Moshe began to plead 515 supplications, petitions.  515 prayers as long as the sea, as deep as the sea, longer than the measure of the earth and deeper than the sea.  No person can comprehend what Moshe prayed in the 515 prayers.  For seven days, beginning on 1 Adar and finishing on 7 Adar.  515 prayers for all Am Yisrael, so that anyone who uses the prayers of Moshe Rabbeinu, no one can stand up before him -- not Arabs, not Nazis, not terrorists.  Whoever merits to use the 515 prayers of Moshe Rabbeinu, no one can stand up before him. So this is what Moshe Rabbeinu entreated, “I implored Hashem at that time, saying” – he asked Hashem for the angel Or-Peniel.  “I want the angel Or-Peniel,” the Megaleh Amukot says in Ofen 174, “that the angel Or-Peniel should go with me.”  Because Moshe Rabbeinu already merited to draw all the Clouds of Glory, that Michael, Refael, Gavriel, Nuriel came.  But also the angel Or-Peniel, which is the numerical value of “Chashmal.”  Then a person will be entirely Chashmal [the electrum in Yechezkel’s vision, or the “speaking silence”].  If a person merits to the angel Or-Peniel, which is the numerical value of Chashmal, he will be entirely Chashmal, when a person will be a fiery flame to Hashem Yitbarach!  A fiery flame is a blazing fire!  “A constant fire shall burn on the altar; it shall not be extinguished.”  This is the fire that burns for 24 hours!  A person burns 24 hours!  He cannot sleep, he cannot eat because of the fire burning within him.  Therefore, people turn to crime – steal, rob, beat, murder – because of the fire that burns within them.  A Jew is entirely a fiery flame.  So there is a Jew who is entirely a fiery flame, but if a person doesn’t know from where the fire comes, that the fire comes from above – the fire comes from the Heavenly Chariot (Merkava).  “The inner side was decked with love by the daughters of Jerusalem, its chariot was purple wool, its flashes are flashes of fire, the flame of God.”  Every Jew is flashes of fire!  Every Jew is the flame of God!  Every Jew is a blazing flame day and night!  So the moment that he knows that this fire comes from above, that this isn’t the fire of crime, this isn’t the fire of sin.  This is a fire whose source is from the Holy of Holies, whose source is between the cherubs, the Holy Temple.  Therefore, a pillar of fire would ascend from the encampment of Israel which was over the Tabernacle day and night.  They saw a pillar of fire!  “The cloud…by day, fire would be…” (Shemot 40:38).  “By day, fire would be – yomam eish tihyeh” the sofei tevot (final letters) of this are “Moshe.”  Because Moshe was the pillar of fire.  Moshe himself was the pillar of fire that rested on the cloud.  No creature in the world could stand up against the pillar of fire of Moshe!  No creature! And Moshe Rabbeinu implored and requested: “Master of the Universe, give me the angel Or-Peniel.  Then I will be entirely Chashmal!  A person turns entirely into Chashmal.  Chashmal burns everyone, ignites everyone.  Either he gets them to repent or they are wiped out and destroyed!  A person is entirely Chashmal.  Whoever he touches is electrified.  He is all a fiery flame.  Anyone who just touches him is immediately electrified!  From this, we need to burn for Hashem Yitbarach!  A person needs to electrify the entire world.  That fact that Moshe Rabbeinu just came, that he just came to Egypt, he electrified all Am Yisrael!  He informed them of the redemption.  “The Children of Israel went up armed (chamushim) from the land of Egypt.”  One out of five (chamisha), one out of fifty, one out of 500, but whoever heeded the voice of Moshe…  Then the maidservant on the sea saw what Yechezkel ben Buzi did not see.  And whoever believed in Moshe, whoever followed Moshe, whoever clung to Moshe.  Even an Egyptian maidservant had simple faith in Moshe!  “This is my God and will glorify Him.”  She heard the Ten Commandments.  Then it’s certain that she saw visions of God!  All the firmaments were seen because Moshe showed them all the firmaments above and all the deeps below – “There is none besides Him!” The shiur underwent editing, and if an error is found, it should be attributed to the writer, and not, God forbid, to Moreinu HaRav shlit"a Artwork courtesy of R' Yehoshua Wiseman WWW.YEHOSHUAWISEMAN.COM
