Early on Thursday morning, the fourth day of Chol HaMoed Passover, Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a arrived at the Kotel Plaza in order to fulfill the mitzvah of “Aliyah LaRegel” [coming to the place of the Temple during the Three Festivals], together with thousands of his students, followers, and supporters.

Moreinu HaRav shlit”a arrived at around 3:40 am and said four Tikkun HaKlali’s with great vitality and fervor.  After the Tikkun HaKlali’s, he exited the Kotel plaza with singing and dancing, accompanied by thousands of his students. This year, Moreinu HaRav shlit”a reached with his car all the way to the ramp down to the men’s section of the Kotel, until the throngs of people made it impossible to continue any further.  Likewise, in order to allow the entire public to see the Rav shlit”a, he stood on a special platform allowing his holy visage in front of the remnants of the Temple to be visible throughout the Kotel Plaza, and even beyond. Moreinu HaRav shlit”a left the Kotel at close to 4:40 am as the entire Old City was closed off to traffic, so that he could reach his holy residence quickly without further delay. A number of minutes after returning, he emerged onto his balcony for the central Shacharit of Chol HaMoed Pesach.
