On Erev Shabbat Kodesh after midday, Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a came down to affix a mezuzah and dedicate the offices of the synagogue that is under his home.

The Rav affixed the mezuzah and gave a brief shiur of eight minutes about the weekly parashah.  At the shiur’s conclusion, he made “LeChaim” and handed out glasses to the gabbai and other synagogue staff.

“Now is the most important of all parashas, ‘And may God give you of the dew of the heavens and of the fatness of the land… Nations will serve you, and peoples will prostrate themselves to you,’ and regarding this, Esav doesn’t forgive.  If we hadn’t received the blessings, we would have been downtrodden and beaten, and every day there would have been a holocaust, God forbid.  But now, all the nations fear the Jewish people, and it’s all in the merit of the blessings of Yitzchak.

“Esav married 'Machalat,' and all his sins were forgiven.  When a person marries, all his sins are forgiven, because the wife protects the husband, so that he won’t perform transgressions, won’t make a golden calf, won’t join Korach, like the wife of On ben Pelet.”
