Rosh Hashanah is the Time of Remembering Barren Women – Daily Chizzuk by Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

WE DON’T KNOW EXACTLY IF YOSEF’S YAHRZEIT IS ON THE 1ST OR 2ND OF TAMMUZ, BECAUSE RACHEL WAS REMEMBERED [FOR CONCEPTION] ON ROSH HASHANAH, BUT WE DON’T KNOW IF THIS WAS ROSH HASHANAH OR THE DAY AFTER THIS. THE DAILY CHIZZUK BY THE TZADDIK MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A – TUESDAY, 21 ELUL 5784 From Rosh Hashanah until the yahrzeit is nine months.  Therefore, Rachel, Rivka, Sarah, and Chana were remembered on Rosh Hashanah, because Rashi writes also Chana.  The Gaon writes only Sarah, Rachel and Rivka.  They were all remembered on Rosh Hashanah.  Rosh Hashanah is the time that everyone is remembered, because then we read “And Hashem remembered Sarah” (Bereishit 21:1). RABBI NATAN SAYS THAT NOW WE READ IN THE TORAH, “AND HASHEM REMEMBERED SARAH,” AND IT’S POSSIBLE TO REMEMBER ALL THE BARREN WOMEN.  IF A PERSON READS, OR PAYS ATTENTION TO THE READING, “AND HASHEM REMEMBERED” IN THE TORAH, AND HE ALSO PRAYS [ON ROSH HASHANAH] UNTIL 4:00 IN THE AFTERNOON, AND AFTER THIS GOES TO THE MEAL, AND AFTERWARDS GOES TO TASHLICH, THEN IT’S POSSIBLE TO REMEMBER ALL THE BARREN WOMEN, “AND HASHEM REMEMBERED SARAH.” On Rosh Hashanah, Rachel was remembered.  In a little while, it will be Rosh Hashanah. RAISING CHILDREN In my life, I have never lifted a child – never in my life.  I don’t know what it is to lift a child.  I see people lifting children.  In my life, I have never held a child in my hands.  In my life, I have never given a kiss to a child. It’s forbidden to hold a child in one’s hands, it’s forbidden to stroke him, because in this way you make him disabled, you make him dependent. THE CHILD WANTS TO DEVELOP ON HIS OWN.  YOU DON’T NEED TO GIVE HIM ANY KISSES.  YOU ONLY NEED TO SING WITH THE CHILDREN ALL THE SHABBAT SONGS.  ALWAYS SING ALL THE SHABBAT SONGS, BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT SUSTAINS THE CHILDREN. Now [Rosh Chodesh Sivan] is the prayer of the Shelah HaKadosh in Tiveria (Tiberias).  Everyone is going.  There are 10,000 people there now. Everyone should travel to Tiveria; today is Rosh Chodesh. https://vimeo.com/1011811844
